Anjali Gulati, Technical Services Director at FoodChain ID, has a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology. She has been with FoodChain ID for over 9 years and, as Technical Services Director, is responsible for implementation of program processes for Non-GMO Programs at FoodChain ID, including Non-GMO Project Standard. She is also responsible for developing and maintaining the review processes for Non-GMO Project Standard and for training the FoodChain ID team. With 24 years of professional experience, including as founding director of an organic farming consulting firm, she has worked in Asia on consulting, training and capacity building for companies, international organizations, non-profit organizations, government departments and other target groups in the areas of Organic Farming, Bioresource Management, Biodynamic Agriculture, Business Incubation, and Intellectual Property Rights Law.
She likes dancing, listening to music and reading books. She believes books are the best friends that teach life to humans.
Hali Sobczak is the Senior Technical Reviewer with NSF where she works with the entire technical review team to confirm products meet the compliance requirements of the Non-GMO Project Standard. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition from Michigan State University under Lyman Briggs College. After graduation, Hali worked in the food industry where she gained experience in nutrition labeling and regulatory compliance, organic certification, and food safety programs.
She was born and raised in northern Michigan near the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore where the plentiful fruit orchards and roadside stands inspired her love for food and nutrition.
Lucy is the Director of the Product Claims Certification Programs at SCS, which includes Non-GMO Project, USDA Organic, and SCS’s own Plant-Based, Gluten Free, and Pesticide Residue Free certifications. She has been with SCS since 2014 and helped start the Non-GMO Project program. She has been a coauthor of multiple SCS owned standards, and in her time with SCS, Lucy has filled every role in the certification process and has spent years auditing our food production systems. Prior to SCS, she did ecology research, focusing on impacts of species removal and pesticides on bee populations.
In her free time, you can find Lucy adventuring outdoors in the mountains, baking, and spending time with her family, friends & dog.
Kristina Bierschwale is currently the Vice President for Sales and Customer Development for Where Food Comes From, Inc., an independent third-party verification and certification company.
Kristina has worked in various sectors of the U.S. food industry for the past 27 years and joined Where Food Comes From in 2011. In her current role, Kristina, in coordination with WFCF’s certification teams, works closely with many consumer packaged goods, dairy, meat and poultry clients to help them identify and meet the requirements of both public and private industry standards.
Kristina was born and raised in the Texas Hill Country and attended Texas A&M University where she completed her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Animal Science. She resides with her husband and three children in Mason, TX.
