Introducing Non-UPF Verified: The next step toward a food system that nourishes life
Millions of shoppers rely on our Butterfly label to avoid GMOs, which has driven significant change in the natural products industry. Just as we’ve worked to preserve and build the non-GMO food supply, we’re committed to protecting and expanding the availability of minimally processed foods and helping people make informed choices about their food – including the 85% of shoppers who say they are seeking to avoid ultraprocessed foods.
To extend our mission, the Non-GMO Project is launching a new certification, Non-UPF Verified, under the broader umbrella of the Food Integrity Collective. The new program offers a transparent and trustworthy method to support human and planetary health by identifying and highlighting less processed foods. It provides another way for brands to share their commitments with consumers and participate in the systematic changes that make truly nourishing food more accessible to everyone.
